MusicFest NW
Got our time slot confirmed for MusicFest NW
Flyers, flyers and more flyers
You want to see some old flyers? How about some new ones? How about every one we’ve ever appeared on? Ok, here you go. 13 years to collect and only 5 minutes to publish.
Want to see what boredom looks like?
How’s this for too much information? A complete map of cities we’ve played in. Kind of hurting on the midwest but that’s an awful lot of tiny towns in OR/WA.
Somone likes our band!
Got an e-mail from a guy named Brandon on MySpace who liked our band and made a post about it. It’s always a glad thing to be mentioned in the same company as the Suicide Girls. Check out Brandon’s Yahoo Group here.
Listen to Viva LaLuna on tonight
There’s a new radio show in Portland called Viva LaLuna airing on KUFO on Sunday at 9:00 PM. Not sure if they’ll play us or not (fingers crossed) but a show playing local music on a big radio station is always a good thing. You can listen live or via the web at kufo.com. Let’s show them some love because they seem very cool and aim to play all styles of music as long as it’s local and good.
Our van is really starting to suck
Unfortunately, we couldn’t make tonight’s show in Roseburg due to a van problem. This year alone it’s been rendered undriveable at least 3 times. We’re contemplating changing the title of ‘Get In The Van’ to ‘Get Out Of The Van and call a tow truck’. In 2007 alone we’ve had the brakes seize up, first gear stopped working, electrical problems, brake lights that stopped working and oil leaks. I’m glad Dr. Kevorkian is back out of jail as we might be right ready to employ Oregon’s assisted suicide laws and have it euthanized. We do apologize to Carlson who set up the show and all in Roseburg who were hoping to see us. Playing there again is long overdue and we promise to reschedule.
Slow month fo’ sho’
Well, it’s kind of been a bummer of a month. The split CD still isn’t done, the August tour might be postponed until later in the year and due to personal schedules we’ve only got one show in June and three in July. Slow going is an understatement. The good news is the weather is changing for the better, Eric and Dustin are up to the hard level in Guitar Hero, Justin has a new dog and Dave is expecting a new two legged addition to his family! We’re on a new compilation called ‘Corruption Of American Youth’ on Crash Assailant Records. Also, we appeared in the first Scene Not Herd sampler CD out of Longview, WA. Both are worth the look up. Good stuff! Oh yeah, we still have shirts for sale here.
May Update
First off apologies to anyone who came to see our show at the Ash Street last week. We hate cancelling shows but every once in a while it happens. I think is only our 4th last minute cancellation so that’s not too bad of a track record. Anyway, a few items of interest for those who are interested. We’re about 80% of the way done with our new songs for our upcoming split with The Independents. Only thing left are a few guitar clean up’s and completing the vocals. The tracks sound good and we’re excited to hear the finished product. The tentative release date is August. After a six month wait we finally have some new merchandise. First off are two new shirt designs. One has a picture of Justin’s broken guitar and the second is another creepy cat from an older button design. We finally got about 2000 new stickers that we borrowed from the back of our last t-shirt design. Last item up are some new guitar picks. They are actually Eric’s personal stash (note the huge size) but if anyone wants some you can find this and all the other items on our merchandise page.
Recording
This month, better yet this weekend, we’re doing some recording. We’re doing a handful of songs with Sam from Take92 Studio in Eugene. The tracks will be for a split CD w/ The Independents due out later in the year. As for shows we’ve got a few. Two of which will be with the previously mentioned Independents who are better known as the world’s most badass and only ska-punk-horror band. We’ve also got a trip to Salem and another to Olympia in the works. Lastly, if you live in Portland, try to check out the one on the 10th. It’s a Tuesday but the touring band (Zombeast) seems totally cool and has promised to rock everyone’s face who attends.
Destination Eugene
Last month was busy, this month is slow. I guess the only thing “newsworthy” is that we’re going to record a couple of songs at Take 92 studios on the first week of April for a split CD due out this summer. Speaking of songs what’s with that SnoCap crap? Glad to see they only posted songs from 1999 on there. Anyway, the only shows this month are Bend on the 9th and Eugene on the 11th. The Eugene show is a matinee show in honor of our friend Hopper who died two years ago. Other than that we are practicing and trying to fine tune the songs for recording. That’s all for now.
