Album Review
A message to Detroiters: Not all things that come out of Portland, Oregon are a complete waste. Ok, the Trailblazers are terrible, and mentioning the name Joey Harrington is bound to drive Lions fans to tears. But blasting out of Portland, 800 Octane is proving that punk and fury can exist in one of the
News. Not really.
We added two shows for late July. One is a benefit show in a town we’ve never even heard of and the other is a birthday party for Derek from Kill The Kids. Beyond that we’re just hanging out and writing.
The movie that never dies
Well, one more show until we take a break so if you are free next Sunday enjoy the weather and make a road trip to Bend. After this show we’ll be laying low for a while so Dave can finish his movie (Undead On Arrival) and we can take some time to finish writing songs for the next album. So, yeah, Sunday in Bend, tell a friend and come to the show.
The digital underground
Want to hear more bands on New School Records? The first 100 copies of the new sampler are only $1 at Interpunk. Get ’em here. Also, we now have songs for sale at the iTunes online store.
Living Large. Extra Large.
Are you a big person? If so XL hoodies are going for $15 with shipping. A few other items have lower prices as well. Check it out here.
Paint it Black / Loved Ones and us?
Next Sunday is the motherlode of all awesome shows. Paint It Black, The Loved Ones and The Shook Ones. Even if we weren’t playing, this would be the show we are most looking forward to this year. If by chance you have been living in a closet and haven’t heard these bands, go download a song, mark your calendar and prepare to be schooled by PIB and The Loved Ones.
The Independents are coming for us.
We’ve got 3 shows with The Independents this weekend. If you like punk, rock, ska or anything horror related check them out. One of the most entertaining live bands ever!
Justin is less fragile
Justin’s status has been downgraded from totally jacked to just mildly crippled. April’s shows will go on!
Justin is very fragile
Bad news. Justin went for a follow up and the doctor said the ankle isn’t healing well. He’s been instructed not to stand without crutches and was basically told he was foolish for trying to play the shows we did. As much as it sucks we’ve had to cancel our next 4 shows including Lincoln City, Roseburg (again!), Estacada and sadly the one with 45 Grave in Portland. The promoters worked hard at setting up these shows and went out of their way to accommodate our band. We completely appreciate it so please do them a favor and check out the shows regardless. Tentatively our April shows (and tonights with DBS) are still on, but we’ll know more in two weeks with Justin’s next doctor visit.
Walking can be dangerous
So in a bizarre work mishap Justin managed to tear the ligament just above his ankle. What does that mean? Serious pain coupled with 4-6 weeks in cast and crutches. That time frame pretty much encompasses all of our next 15 shows. We’re going to see how this weekend goes before we decide if anything needs to be cancelled or not. Sigh…
